Architect: Tito Canella Architetti
In this private residence on Via Castelvetro in Milan, light is conceived as a structural element of the architecture. It is not simply a lighting system, but an integrated presence that defines volumes, proportions, and the perception of space.
Living
Natural light even where natural light cannot reach. In spaces designed to be lived in, the right lighting makes all the difference. Custom-made and installed in a niche, this system integrates a customized aluminum metal mesh combined with a 10 mm opal diffuser to ensure the perfect balance between technical performance, aesthetics, and visual cleanliness. This is why Folio Opal 10L was chosen: an ultra-thin 19 mm luminaire, backlit with high color rendering LEDs (CRI 95, R9 80) for uniform and natural lighting, ideal for spaces with limited natural light. The Tunable White system also allows the color temperature to be adjusted, improving comfort and functionality throughout the day.
A technical light designed to last even in the most challenging environments.
For above-pool applications, Folio has developed a customized version of the Rigo Frame luminaire, capable of withstanding humidity and chlorine vapors thanks to its IP65 protection, opal technical diffuser, and special coating.
Made to measure and fully customizable, the lighting unit offers 97% uniform light, a sturdy extruded aluminum structure, and a clean aesthetic with a full light effect, featuring luminous edges and a 10 mm diffuser. A solution where technology, design, and precision come together to evenly illuminate every detail of the project.
Wet Areas
Tradition and innovation, brought together in a new light. Folio Japanese Paper is the result of the combination of the visual delicacy of Washi paper and Folio's lighting engineering. In environments such as showers, where humidity is constant, it withstands the elements thanks to its IP65 protection rating and carefully designed installation: the panel is raised at least 20 mm above the floor, avoiding direct contact with water. A completely customized product, capable of faithfully reproducing the texture of Japanese tradition, offering unique aesthetics and uniform light.
Opal technology guarantees uniformity, visual lightness, and formal precision, transforming light into a pure architectural surface. In Via Castelvetro, the lighting does not overlap with the design: it becomes an integral part of it, silent but decisive.
